The Ford Explorer

The 2010 Ford Explorer was the most preferred vehicle by consumers in the 1990s. However, the manufacturers are offering the 2010 Explorer as the last track exhibit the SUV features due to many reasons.
Among them is, though the explorer has in creased the sale of SUVs, customers' demand has reduced due to their quest for a comfortable vehicle. Thus the 2011 model year will be unibody kind of vehicle.
The configuration of the explorer was redesigned in 2006, since then, most parts have not been changed. What has been improved is the addition of V.8 motor engine and a six-speed gear-box. Otherwise, Most of its parts are carried unchanged to the 2010 model.
The caloyne V-6 engine has been the source of power for the explorer from 1990s backwards. Currently, the V-8 motor is fading away but the F-150 and the Ford-Explorer are sharing in common.
The 2010 Explorer is not selling much, the reason for this is, its handling is like that of trucks which are outdated engines and high fuel economy which faces which faces high competition from the current models.
Otherwise, it lost a seven sitter capacity with perfect handling and towing abilities and exists as a four wheel drive.

The range

The 2010 Explorer has a SUV kind of body design hosting a 4.0 liter V-6 engine and 4.6 literV-8 motor engines. It exists as either limited, XLT, XLT sport or Eddie Bauer model.
These models are offered with either five or six speed automatic transmission.

New features

The new features in this last mode of 2010 Ford Explorer are the addition of the standard my key system and trailer sway control system.

The Exteriors

The explorer wheels ranges between 16inches which is found in XLTS to 20Son limited. However, its physical appearance defers with model where Eddie Bauer model has a golden front and backside dampers while the XLTS model has a black grill and limited has colored dampers.

The Interiors

The seating capacity of seven passengers and seats are arranged in three rows. The last row is designed to fit larger passengers; it has also 85.8cubic feet of cargo space.

Performance and handling

The first engine with a very poor fuel economy is its 4.6liter V6which churns out 210 horsepower and a torque of 254pound-feet.The second one is the V8 which churns out 292horsepower and a torque of 315 pound-feet.
The V6 is offered with a transmission of fire-speed while the V8 engine comes with an automatic transmission of six-speed, the V6 engine has a tow of 5,375 pounds, while the V8 as a tow of 7,115 pounds.

The 2010 explore has been fitted with standard side curtains,airbags, roll stability control, traction and seatbelts prevention and a trailer sway control.

EPA fuel economy

The different models rate of city to highway fuel economy varies where the V8 FWD has a 14/19 mpg and the V6 FWD has a 13/19mpg and the V6 RWD has a 14/20mpg.
